A soil survey was performed on a former industrial site. The soil is contaminated due to the careless exploitation of a solvent recuperation & destillation unit. Moreover the site was burned out in 1993 which resulted in the draining of thousands of liters solvent. Mineral oil, BTEX, EOX, VOCl, phenols, PAK’s, … were found in the soil. A LNAPL of pure product was found under the entire site.

The purpose of the EnISSA MIP investigation was to identify the extent of the vertical distribution of the contaminants.
