| CityChlor is a transnational cooperation project that aims to improve the
quality and minimize the pollution of sol and groundwater by developing an
integrated approach to tackle the threats caused by contamination with
chlorinated solvents in urban areas. One of the work packages tries to encounter the need for cost-effective, reliable and fast tools for characterization of pollution, tools for measurements as well as models for risk-evaluation.
| This will be done by: - supporting and developing innovative tools; - implementing and demonstrating these innovative tools on pilot sites; - including the results in codes of best practices and promoting the use of appropriate innovative techniques. The
EnISSA method has been selected as one of the innovative technologies
which can encounter the need for cost-effective, reliable and fast
characterization of pollution. Within the CityChlor project, the EnISSA
method will be tested and verified on a pilot site. Results will be
compared with traditional soil investigation approaches. Finally, the
conclusions of the project can lead to the development of a best
practice for characterization of chlorinated solvents in urban areas. Read more at: www.CityChlor.eu
